Dear colleagues,

The Berkeley brand platform and accompanying website ( were first launched in February 2013. In the four years since, the gradual adoption of these guidelines campuswide has helped unify and improve our overall brand image while saving time and money for campus units. As an added bonus, alumni report that there is greater synergy among the messages they now receive from units.

Dear Colleagues,

It is with a mixture of both sadness and pride that I write to announce that Vice Chancellor of Equity & Inclusion Na’ilah Nasir will be leaving UC Berkeley in June to become president of the Spencer Foundation, one of the nation’s leading educational research foundations. This was a very difficult decision for Na’ilah – who has deep ties to Berkeley as an alumna, a longtime faculty member, and an administrator – but we wish her the best in an exciting new role. Her last day at Berkeley will be June 15.

Dear Colleagues,

As we close the Fall Semester, I am writing to you to let you know what new large scale projects the Vice Chancellor for Research Office will be focusing on in the Spring of 2017. We will continue to work hard on the collaborative research initiatives that we selected for development in the Fall term, and we will also continue on the path we have charted for improvement in Research Administration.
