Briefly explain what your Staff Organization does or its mission:

Be Well at Work Faculty/Staff Health programs support employee well-being through a continuum of services, resources and offerings from prevention to treatment.

How does your Staff Organization benefit UC Berkeley staff?

We offer UC Berkeley staff trainings, workshops, consultations, programs, occupational health, employee assistance and disability management services that are available to sustain one’s mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being in the workplace. With the aim to improve productivity, reduce workplace injuries, help staff to feel more connected with colleagues and the workplace, and to reduce the risk of chronic illness.

How can UC Berkeley staff get involved with your Staff Organization?

Each semester, UC Berkeley staff are encouraged to download the University Health Services Workshops and Resources flyer to enroll in upcoming programs and workshops. Staff can also visit uhs.berkeley.edu/facstaff to learn more about the seven Be Well at Work Faculty/Staff Health programs and sign up for our listservs - Elder Care, Employee Assistance, Wellness, and Work/Life.

In what kinds of events and/or outreach does your Staff Organization engage in?

Our programs host a variety of events and coordinate outreach opportunities each semester including Volunteer Days at the Staff Garden, UC Moves: Berkeley Moves More event, UC Berkeley Wellness Ambassador program. 

What’s the best part of being in this Staff Organization?

We work together as an integrated team to enhance the well-being of our workplace community through a diverse, inclusive, and equitable lens. The best part about Be Well at Work is our dedicated team. Every individual at Be Well at Work strives to create a supportive and healthy work environment for faculty and staff. Together our commitment to our community ensures that our programs encourage and engage in all areas of an employee's life.

What are your Staff Organization's current and future goals?

Be Well at Work Faculty/Staff Health programs strive to support the diverse needs of our staff and will continue to advocate for policies, practices and environmental initiatives that will cultivate a culture of health and well-being where staff are more engaged, energized and empowered to lead a healthy lifestyle and prevent injury and illness at work.
