2024-25 Excellence in Management Award Nomination Form is Open
This year's Excellence in Management theme is: "A Culture of Excellence: Inspiring Performance and Growth". This theme highlights leaders who foster an environment where innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement thrive, empowering their teams to achieve their full potential and drive organizational success.
Please nominate your managers/supervisors who exemplify the theme and provide detailed examples based on our Principles of Community and Rubric. Below are some examples of the characteristics that exemplify this years' theme.
You may choose to use one or more of the examples below or provide your own specific examples that encompass the theme:
- Leadership Development Programs: invests in leadership training and mentorship programs to help employees build the skills needed to succeed and grow within the organization, also inspiring them to reach their full potential.
- Employee Recognition and Rewards: recognizing and celebrating employee achievements in meaningful ways to motivate employees to strive for excellence.
- Inclusive and Collaborative Work Environment: Promoting teamwork and collaboration across departments and diverse groups driving innovation. They encourage open communication, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration, which supports creativity and growth.
- Promoting Well-being + Work Life Balance: Supporting employees' mental, physical, and emotional well-being to foster long-term growth and engagement.
- Empowerment and Autonomy: Giving employees ownership of their work and the autonomy to make decisions allows them to take initiative, feel accountable for results, and grow in their roles. Empowering employees to make meaningful contributions fosters a sense of pride and engagement.
Please see eligibility requirements:
- Your supervisor has held their role for at least one year
- Your supervisor's classification/title is considered staff and non-academic
- You have half of the signatures of the staff that directly reports to the supervisor/manager; student staff are not eligible for the 50% requirement
- Your supervisor is in good standing
- The nomination letter is provided in Word or PDF format and has no more than 800 words in total
- Names and signatures do NOT count toward 800 maximum word limit
- The deadline for submissions is February 7, 2024
About the Excellence in Management Award
The Berkeley Staff Assembly is pleased to announce the recipients of the 36th annual Excellence in Management (EIM) Award, who are recognized for leading their teams and team members to meaningful accomplishments this past year. This year’s award theme, “Cultivating Staff, Harvesting Success: Recognizing Excellence in Management”highlights leaders who excel in cultivating their staff, leading to overall success for the team and the organization.
