Special laptop personal purchase program

December 8, 2020

 Vice Chancellor, Administration

Dear campus community,

You’re invited to purchase a brand new laptop at special pricing for your personal use. These Lenovo E14 ThinkPad laptops, etched with the UC Berkeley logo, are being sold for $871 + tax, a 45% savings off retail.

These laptops were purchased at specially negotiated bulk pricing in support of the Student Technology Equity Program. With the demand for laptops lower than anticipated, the surplus inventory is being sold with the special savings being passed on to you. Proceeds from these purchases will be returned to the program to further assist in connecting students with financial need to technical equipment in support of their learning.

All UC Berkeley staff, faculty, students, and alumni are eligible to purchase a laptop for their personal use. There is a limit of 5 laptops per person and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

Sincerely,

Marc Fisher
Vice Chancellor, Administration
