Dear Colleagues, Now that the fall semester is under way, all members of the Golden Bear Orientation Steering Committee and the staff of New Student Services extend our heartfelt thanks to you for helping our new undergraduate students as they began their UC Berkeley journey. Golden Bear Orientation (GBO) is a foundation for everything that follows here at UC Berkeley, and at the 2018 event, our students felt your encouragement as they transitioned into our academic community. You helped our first-year and transfer students find new friends in their new home. You gave them academic support, guided them toward important resources, and helped them enroll in classes. It truly takes a campus to create GBO and we couldn’t do this without your support. We’ve prepared a short video that gives you a taste of the excitement and events from GBO 2018. NOMINATE A LEADER As you know, our GBO student leaders are critical to the program’s overall excellence, and we are beginning our search for 2019 leaders. If you know or work with an undergraduate student who you believe would be a dedicated GBO Leader and positive role model for UC Berkeley's newly admitted undergraduates, simply fill out this nomination form. Feel free to pass this information along to your campus colleagues. Orientation Leaders will receive real-world leadership experience; facilitation, public speaking, team building, and professional skills; exclusive career development opportunities; and swag and memories to last a lifetime.
