The Student Technology Fund (STF) proposal submission process is now open for large-scale projects. The deadline to submit project abstracts is January 8, 2018.
ELIGIBILITY
Any student, faculty member, or staff member of the University of California, Berkeley is eligible to submit a proposal for consideration by the Student Technology Fund Committee. Individual students must obtain a fiscal sponsor to administer awarded funds, such as a registered student group, ASUC/GA, academic department, or other functional unit.
ALLOWABLE COSTS
This fee, assessed at $51 per semester for seven years, provides funding to negotiate with commercial software vendors on behalf of students to secure volume licensing of software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Matlab, and most recently, Lynda.com. It also provides funding to support additional student technology services and initiatives. Fee funds are prohibited from subsidizing core information technology infrastructure.

- Training, Support, and Access to Technology Programs

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS
Abstracts are due January 8, 2018. In February, selected applicants will be invited to submit full proposals, which will be due March 9, 2018. Proposals will be reviewed by the Student Technology Fund Committee (STFC) in March-April, with the intent of making decisions in the month of May and allocating funds in June.
