Dear campus community:
In response to the 2019 UC Universitywide Policing Task Force and applicable changes in California state law, the UC Office of the President has published proposed updates and changes to its Universitywide Police Policies and Administrative Procedures manual.
The Office of the President has distributed revised sections to the manual to all campuses and locations in the UC system to solicit feedback and comments before finalizing these proposed changes. Proposed changes include:
- An updated “Use of Force” policy
- A new “Body Worn Audio/Video” policy
- A new “Systemwide Response Team” policy
- A new “Concealed Carry Weapons” policy
All members of the Berkeley community are encouraged to review these and other sections of the manual and submit comments and suggestions using this form by Saturday, May 1, 2021.
