UC Botanical Garden Redwood Grove Summer Concert Series

May 16, 2018

Dear Campus Community,

The University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley is pleased to announce the return of its annual Redwood Grove Summer Concert Series.  This year, as part of the Stand for the Redwoods celebration of 100 years of redwood forest protection, the  Save the Redwoods League is partnering in the presentation of the summer concert series. The concerts are held every Thursday + special Tuesdays, June through August, in the Botanical Garden's outdoor amphitheater under towering redwoods. Shows are held in the golden hours between 5:30-7:30pm and are family- and picnic-friendly. (We strongly encourage you to ride the Hill Shuttle for free with your campus ID!)

As always, the line-up has something for everyone and includes a wide range of performers, from Grammy-nominated pianist Jovino Santos Neto to the inspiring Young Musicians Choral Orchestra Big Band, venerable Americana songwriter Chris Smither to Peruvian indie rock couple Alejandro Y Maria Laura. We're bringing back local favorites, like Vetiver, and introducing you to new bands, like The Low Anthem. Opening night is Thursday, June 7, with beautiful African folk music by Yacouba Sissoko + Babá Ken Okulolo & the Nigerian Brothers.

In the past few years, all the shows have been completely sold out, so please order early if you plan to come!

Information and tickets available online to all shows can be found at: http://botanicalgarden.berkeley.edu/summer-concerts-2018

Ticket sales benefit conservation, education, and research at the UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley, one of the nation’s most diverse plant collections and a Bay Area community treasure. Enjoy a magical music experience in the Berkeley Hills at the UC Botanical Garden Redwood Grove Summer Concert Series.

Best,
