Dear Colleagues,

We wanted to remind you of the policies related to non-represented staff who are required to complete mandated compliance trainings. This year, to align with UC Office of the President policy, Sexual Harassment Prevention frequency has increased and completion of two additional mandatory trainings are required to ensure salary increase eligibility. More specifics for each training are listed below.

Sexual Harassment Prevention:

  • All UC Berkeley staff are required to take a yearly Sexual Harassment Prevention training.

  • In May, this training was upgraded to meet enhanced compliance requirements, and as a result, some employees may now be receiving notifications that they are no longer up-to-date on their training.

  • For non-represented staff members, eligibility for future salary increases is contingent upon completion of this training.

  • For managers or supervisors, eligibility for future salary increases is also contingent upon each of their direct reports completing their assigned training as well.

Cyber Security:

  • All UC Berkeley staff are required to complete a yearly Cyber Security Training.

  • New this year (FY18-19), completion of this and other compliance trainings will impact salary increase eligibility.

UC Ethical Values and Conduct:

  • All UC Berkeley staff are required to complete Ethical Values and Conduct Training.

  • New this year (FY18-19), completion of this and other compliance trainings will impact salary increase eligibility for non-represented staff members.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We appreciate your ongoing support in ensuring our students, staff, and faculty work in a safe, respectful, inclusive and welcoming environment.

Warmly,
Jo and Khira

Jo Mackness, Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources
