Supporting Student Financial Wellness on Campus

 Student Affairs

Dear faculty and staff -

Finances can be confusing and stressful for students, and they may turn to you for support. Fortunately, the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office has a wonderful peer-to-peer financial wellness program, Bears for Financial Success, to help students navigate their personal finances. The program helps students with basic money management skills like creating a budget, managing debt and student loans, and understanding credit. Bears for Financial Success recently purchased an online personal finance tool called iGrad that is available now to all students. Having an online tool will help reach more students with this valuable information.

We are hoping to enlist your help in getting the word out to students about Bears for Financial Success and iGrad.

I encourage all faculty and staff to become familiar with Bears for Financial Success and to create their own account on iGrad and explore its resources. Not only will you be better prepared to answer a question from a student, you may learn something yourself!

While our students will access the site from their CalCentral accounts, faculty and staff can access the site directly at ucberkeley.igrad.com. You may be asked if you are an “administrator” when you register; be sure to select “yes” if you see this prompt so you are not reported as a student. If you need any assistance, email the team at iGrad at PartnerRequests@iGrad.com

Thank you for all you do every day to improve the student experience here at Berkeley!

Sincerely,

Stephen C. Sutton, Ed.D.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

If you are a manager who supervises UC Berkeley employees without email access, please circulate this information to all.
