Staff Panelists Needed for Student Conduct Hearing Panel

October 14, 2019

 Student Affairs

Dear Staff,

There is an immediate need for staff members to serve on student conduct hearing panels as members of the Committee on Student Conduct. These panels determine whether, based on the information presented at the hearing, it is more likely than not that a charged student violated the Berkeley Code of Student Conduct. At least one staff member is required for each panel, therefore the need is great for staff to serve on the Committee. We are recruiting staff to serve on panels for 2019-20, with a deadline of October 22, 2019 for priority consideration.

Requirements

  • Four-hour training (basic training plus mock hearing)

Commitment

  • Approximately 2–4 hearings for the entirety of the 2-semester term

  • Availability for hearings during business hours, Mondays-Fridays

  • Two semesters (with an option to serve one additional semester)
