 Chancellor's Office

Dear Campus Community,

On September 14, 2021, the California voters will be asked whether or not they wish to recall the Governor in a special election.

The last day to register to vote for the CA 2021 special election is this Monday, August 30th. You must re-register to vote if you move, change your name, or change your political party preference.

To register to vote in California, you must be:

  • A United States citizen and a resident of California;
  • 18 years old or older on Election Day;
  • Not currently serving a state or federal prison term for the conviction of a felony;
  • Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court.

If you are eligible to vote, you can register to vote or update your registration online at https://registertovote.ca.gov/

If you are registered to vote, you should have already received a vote by mail ballot. You can track your ballot online by signing up at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov to receive an automatic email, SMS (text), or voice call notifications about your ballot

Additionally, by law, Californians, you may register to vote on election day and cast a provisional ballot.

For students living on campus and other Alameda County residents wishing to cast a ballot in person, the campus will host an accessible voting location in Pauley Ballroom.

Hours of operation are:

  • Saturday, September 11, 2021, 7am-6pm
  • Sunday, September 12, 2021, 8am-6pm
