Nominate a student to be a GBO Leader

January 24, 2019

 Student Affairs

Please note, this message is for UC Berkeley Faculty & Staff who work with undergraduate students.

To All UC Berkeley Faculty and Staff:

As you may know, Golden Bear Orientation (GBO) is designed to welcome new undergraduates to UC Berkeley and is hosted on campus in August for all 9,000+ incoming undergraduates.

GBO is a foundation for everything that follows here at UC Berkeley, and our GBO undergraduate student leaders are critical to the program’s overall excellence.

We are searching for 2019 student leaders! Last year, our faculty and staff nominated more than 300 student leaders, which demonstrates just how critical your input is.

If you know or work with an undergraduate student who could be a dedicated GBO Leader and a positive role model for UC Berkeley's newly-admitted undergraduates, simply fill out this nomination form by February 11.

Orientation Leaders will:

  • meet and mentor a diverse, dynamic student group

  • develop leadership skills

  • be a positive influence (while having fun)

The position is open to undergraduate students of all colleges, majors, and personal attributes.

Please contact the staff in New Student Services if you have any questions: nss@berkeley.edu

Thank you in advance for your contributions toward Golden Bear Orientation!

Sincerely,

Catherine P. Koshland, Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education
Stephen C. Sutton, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
