Light the Way: The Campaign for Berkeley

March 3, 2020

 Chancellor's Office

Dear campus community:

Over the weekend, the campus launched Light the Way: The Campaign for Berkeley. This comprehensive effort aims to raise $6 billion by the end of 2023 to invest in our core strengths: our extraordinary community, research for the public good, and learning, living, and work spaces. The campaign — among the largest ever undertaken by a university — builds on Berkeley’s distinctiveness in transforming lives, fueling social mobility, and changing the world.

Light the Way will touch every part of the campus and every school, college, and program. Every gift made during this period, no matter what size or what it supports, will count toward the campaign’s success.

Through this effort, we are mobilizing our entire Cal community to stand together, demonstrating our collective power, to illuminate knowledge and realize a common vision for our future.

I invite you to learn more about this ambitious campaign at light.berkeley.edu.

Warm regards,

Carol Christ
Chancellor
