 Division of Equity & Inclusion

Dear Campus Community,

On behalf of the Division of Equity & Inclusion, we would like to announce the public launch of the Division of Equity & Inclusion's virtual services in response to COVID-19. We know that during these uncertain times, it is important to stay connected, find virtual ways to build community and to have equitable access to services. In accordance with UC Berkeley policy and the statewide Shelter in Place order, the division has moved all services and support, except for basic needs and access and accommodations, to virtual access.

This is not an easy time for many of our campus community members. We want to acknowledge th e inequitable and disparate impacts of COVID-19 on marginalized communities experiencing even greater challenges than the general population accessing food, housing, accommodations, and technology. To ensure the most vulnerable populations continue to be served, we have designated theBasic Needs Center an essential service and will be holding pop-up pantries on campus in Sproul Hall, as well as, the Disabled Students’ Program providing access and accommodations for people with disabilities.

On the new website, you can easily access information on the equitable ways we are addressing UC Berkeley’s diverse community members through virtual classrooms, virtual advising, webinar events,  and remote work accommodations needs.

We are here for you; we are with you. Remember to practice self-care by staying indoors as much as possible and stay in touch by reaching out virtually to your community members, family, and friends.

Best regards,

Oscar Dubón
Vice Chancellor for Equity & Inclusion
