Dear campus community,
I am pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2018 Peter E. Haas Public Service Award. Given each year, the award recognizes a Berkeley alum who exemplifies our institution's commitment to the public good and whose volunteerism has had a profound impact in one of our four areas: community and social service, health care, education, or the environment. The deadline for nominations is July 31.
Established in honor of the late Peter E. Haas '40, a generous campus benefactor and longtime volunteer himself, the award comes with a $20,000 cash prize as well as $20,000 to be donated to a charity of the winner's choice. The honoree is also asked to speak at our campus' winter commencement ceremony.
Visit https://awards.berkeley.edu/peter-e-haas-public-service-award for information on how to submit a nomination, and please contact Beverly Ingram at firstname.lastname@example.org or (510) 643-7799 if you have any additional questions. Thank you for considering those in your network for this honor, and thanks as well to the many Berkeley alumni across the world whose volunteer work contributes to the betterment of society.
