 Communications & Public Affairs

Dear campus community,

Following is this week’s schedule for "Berkeley Conversations: COVID-19," a series of live, online events featuring faculty experts from across the UC Berkeley campus who are sharing what they know, and what they are learning, about the pandemic. New events are being added regularly. If you miss the live presentations, everything is being recorded and made available for viewing at any time on the Berkeley Conversations website.

Live webcast: Monday, June 29 12:50–2 p.m. (Pacific)

Race, law, and health policy

COVID-19 has had a dramatically different effect on African-American and Latinx communities. This reflects enormous racial inequalities in health and health care in the United States. A panel of Berkeley professors will discuss race, law, and health policy.

Speakers are: Erwin Chemerinsky, Dean and Jesse H. Choper Distinguished Professor of Law, UC Berkeley School of Law; Khiara M. Bridges, Professor of Law, UC Berkeley School of Law; Mahasin S. Mujahid, Chancellor’s Professor of Public Health and Director of the Epidemiology/Biostatistics MPH Program; Osagie K. Obasogie, Haas Distinguished Chair and Professor of Bioethics, Joint Medical Program, UC Berkeley School of Public Health; and Tina Sacks, Assistant Professor, School of Social Welfare and Faculty Chair, Center for Research on Social Change at the Institute for the Study of Societal Issues.
