2020 Martin Meyerson Berkeley Faculty Research Lectures

February 4, 2020

 Chancellor's Office

Dear Campus Community,

The 2020 Martin Meyerson Berkeley Faculty Research Lectures, a 107 year old campus tradition celebrating excellence in research at UC Berkeley, will take place Monday, March 2 and Friday, April 3.  The faculty honorees this year are:

David Card
Class of 1950 Professor of Economics
“Are We Under-investing in Education?”
Monday, March 2

Steven Lindow
Professor of Plant and Microbial Biology
“Understanding Microbial Life on Leaves”
Friday, April 3

Both events are free and open to the public and will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Chevron Auditorium at International House, 2299 Piedmont Ave.

Every year since 1912, the Academic Senate has selected faculty members who are exceptionally distinguished for their scholarly research to serve as the Faculty Research Lecturers.  These public events provide a unique opportunity for the campus community to hear from the very people who are transforming knowledge at Berkeley and in our world.  Past participants include many of Berkeley’s Nobel Prize winners and campus notables, including Ernest Lawrence, George Pimentel, Randy Schekman, and Jennifer Doudna, to name a few.

Sincerely,

Carol Christ
Chancellor
