Dear Faculty & Staff Members:

UC Berkeley is committed to supporting working parents, and we realize that juggling childcare duties over the upcoming summer months can provide a challenge.

One way we want to support our working parents is to encourage supervisors to be flexible. Also, for those who search for childcare, keep in mind that registration is now open for UC Berkeley’s Youth Camps program.

Now in its 60th year, this popular program is a great childcare option for our working parents

  • Youth Camps offer a wide variety of summer camps, swimming lessons, academic- and STEM-focused camps, and sport activities for kids ages four to seventeen.

  • Camps take place on or near the campus (including the Golden Bear Rec Center, RSF, and Lawrence Hall of Science, among other Berkeley sites) so you can choose an activity and location that works for your commute.

  • Early morning drop-off care is included. Afternoon Extended Care and lunch options are available for purchase.

Register today to get your choice of camps. *Bonus* If you’re signing up for Science & Sports (S2) Camp, you can get early-bird discount pricing on registrations completed January 29–February 12.

Please sign up for our mailing list to stay connected. We hope to see your children swimming in the pools, learning gymnastics, paddling kayaks, or enjoying any of the other amazing adventures we have in store this summer!

Sincerely,
Brigitte Lossing, Director, Recreational Sports
Dave Leimsieder, Director, Youth Programs, Recreational Sports
