URGENT: Voter registration deadline next Tuesday

February 15, 2020

 Communications & Public Affairs

Dear campus community,

California’s primary election is fast approaching and the voter registration deadline is next Tuesday, February 18.  Before anyone can vote, you must be registered to vote at your current address (check your status here).

Please take five minutes and register via CA Secretary of State’s Office

UC Berkeley has a long tradition of civic engagement, and we have a duty to cast our votes and make our voices heard. As we celebrate UC Berkeley’s history, we want to recognize another important event in American history: This is the 100-year anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment guaranteeing women’s constitutional right to vote. It is also the 150th anniversary of the 15th Amendment guaranteeing the right to vote regardless of race. These milestones should be reminders to all of us not to take for granted the hard-won right, responsibility and privilege we have to participate in our nation’s democracy

Let’s make UC Berkeley a campus that votes.  If you have changed your permanent address, name, or party affiliation since the last election you’ll need to re-register. Once again, the deadline to register for the California primary is Tuesday, February 18.

Go Bears! Go Vote!
