UCPath W-2s

January 28, 2020

 Vice Chancellor, Administration

Dear Colleagues,

Tax filing season is officially upon us. This year, you’ll receive two W-2’s for tax year 2019 – one from At Your Service Online (UC’s legacy system), and one from UCPath. This is due to our campus transition to UCPath in March 2019.

At Your Service Online (AYSO) W-2
(for earnings from pay dates January - March 2019)

If you enrolled to receive your W-2 electronically in AYSO before March 2019, it will be available January 31 in AYSO. If you didn’t request an electronic version, UC will mail you a printed version on January 31.

UCPath W-2
(for earnings from pay dates April - December 2019)

If you were enrolled to receive your W-2 electronically in AYSO, or if you enrolled in UCPath to receive your W-2 electronically before January 18, 2020, your UCPath W-2 will be available in UCPath by January 31. If you didn’t request an electronic version, UC will mail you a printed version on January 31.

To access your W-2 in UCPath, log in and navigate to: Employee Actions > Income and Taxes > View Online W-2/W-2C.

Additionally, we have learned that UC Hastings will be joining us in UCPath in February. As you plan to access your year-end tax forms, please plan around these brief periods of UCPath system unavailability to accommodate UC Hastings data conversion:

  • February 1, 12 AM - February 2, 8 AM
  • February 15, 12 AM - February 16, 8 AM

You can review additional information about 2019 Taxable Income, including UCPath W-2 FAQs, on the Controller’s Office website. Please note - UC does NOT send actual W-2 statements to our employees by email or text. Visit the Information Security Office website to learn how to identify tax phishing scams and legitimate ways to access your W-2.

Thank you for your continued patience as our last few sister campuses make the transition to UCPath this year. We’ll continue to communicate system unavailability dates when we receive timeline information from the UC Office of the President.

Sincerely,

Marc Fisher
Vice Chancellor, Administration

Eugene Whitlock
Assistant Vice Chancellor, Human Resources

If you are a manager who supervises UC Berkeley employees without email access, please circulate this information to all.
