There is something for everyone at the Spring Plant Sale! Visit our website for shopping tips, plant picks, and a map of the sale. Even if you don’t keep a garden, indoor plants can brighten your office, apartment, or dorm room with minimal care. The Garden’s expert staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions, give advice, and talk all things plants.
Book Sale
In addition to plants, this year’s Fall Plant Sale will also offer gently used, vintage, and unique botanically-related books for sale. Prices range from $1-10. Books will be sorted into the following categories: Garden Design, Literature & Biographies, Birds & Animals, Historic Gardens, Flower Arranging, Garden Reference, Vintage, Ethnobotany, Speci es Specific (i.e roses, orchids, etc), Regional Guides, and Textbooks!
Garden Members' Sale: 9 - 10:30 am
UC Botanical Garden Members get first pick of the plants and exclusive access to the Room of Rares! The Room of Rares will feature exotic ferns, sought-after cycads, unusual succulents, beautiful bromeliads, unexpected euphorbia, and much more. If you wish to attend the Members' Sale, you can become a Garden Member at reduced rates for Cal Students, Staff, and Faculty. Can't make the sale? Visit Cal's world-class plant collection another day!
The Garden is open every day from 9 am to 5 pm (last entrance at 4:30 pm) and always free to students, faculty, and staff. Take a hike, ride your bike, or hop on the campus Hil l shuttle (from Hearst Mining Circle every 30 min) to visit the UC Botanical Garden!
