Dear Campus Community,

Thank you for your participation in the MyVoice survey! We appreciate each person who took the time to share their experience and perspective to improve our campus efforts to prevent and respond to sexual violence and sexual harassment. Many thanks to the private donors who supported this significant effort for our campus.

Faculty, staff, students, post-docs and others participated in this survey, which collected data on beliefs and attitudes surrounding sexual violence and harassment; social norms and current perceptions and misperceptions about violence, harassment and their prevention; and survey participants’ experience with Berkeley’s prevention and response resources.
Some of the collected data will suggest incidence occurrence rates. However, the main focus of the survey is to tailor programs, services and policies to the campus culture’s unique characteristics and challenges in order to improve effectiveness.

We will be sharing our preliminary findings with the campus community by the end of the semester, with a full report to follow. Cross-campus working groups will integrate the results into prevention and response initiatives beginning in fall 2018 and continuing in years to come. Your voices have given us added power to engage campus communities in creating a prevention-focused and survivor-centered culture on campus.

For survivors of sexual misconduct, and anyone in need of support and resource information, we encourage you to reach out for help, which can include counseling, academic accommodations, information about the reporting process, and more.

The PATH to Care Center serves every member of our campus community impacted by sexual violence and sexual harassment, no matter when or where an experience took place. Linked here is a flyer with additional information regarding on- and off-campus resources.

If you would like to report an incident to the campus Title IX officer, contact the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD).

April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month, which presents more opportunities to raise awareness and support survivors. Please join the campus efforts in events listed on the SAAM website.
