Staff Appreciation Week - Summer Keynote is today!

June 10, 2019

 Human Resources

Dear Colleagues,

Staff Appreciation Week is here, and today we’re excited to present our Keynote Talk with Jeremy Adam Smith discussing ‘Positive Thinking for Cranks and Pessimists.' Are you sick of people telling you to be happy? If so, Jeremy is on your wavelength. But as an editor for UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center he also knows about a lot of research that can improve your life, if you're willing to give positive thinking a chance. He'll explain the science of happiness - minus the happy talk.

His articles and essays have appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle, Scientific American, Utne Reader, The Nation, Mindful, Wired, and many other periodicals, websites, and books. Jeremy has also been interviewed by The Today Show, the New York Times, USA Today, Working Mother, Nightline, ABC News, NBC News, the Globe and Mail, and numerous NPR shows about parenting and education.

Join us at noon today for this entertaining and informative in-person event at the air-conditioned Sibley Auditorium, or attend live online through this streaming link. Plus, don’t forget our Special Offers all week long - free coffees, $5 meals and Cal/BAMPFA merchandise discounts courtesy of our friends at Cal Dining, Cal Student Store and BAMPFA!

Warmly,

Jo
