Policy Change - Formal Review - Presidential Policy on Supplement to Military Pay

February 14, 2018

Dear Colleagues,

The University invites comments on the Draft Revised Presidential Policy on Supplement to Military Pay - Four-Year Renewal. The Presidential Policy on Supplement to Military Pay applies to all University academic and staff employees. The proposed revisions:

  • Provide eligible employees with supplemental payments equal to the difference between the employee’s University pay and their active military duty pay for a period not to exceed the employee’s tour of active military duty, until June 30, 2022, or until the separation date of an employee’s University appointment, whichever comes first. Benefits provided under the Policy are subject to a two-year lifetime limit.

  • Renew the current Policy for a four-year period, effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022.

  • Add/update existing language including definitions, compensation, duration and procedures.

  • Clarify existing benefits language.

You may access the proposed version at Supplement to Military Pay (clean draft), the redlined version at Supplement to Military Pay (redlined version), and the current version at Supplement to Military Pay (current)

Employees covered by this policy who wish to provide comments on the proposed revisions may submit them to Policy Specialist, Melanie Carr at Melanie.Carr@ucop.edu by May 10, 2018.

Thank you,
