Overpayment Waiver Request policy

Colleagues,

The University of California, Berkeley Policy Office facilitated the campus review and requested input on the proposed new campuswide administrative policy, the Overpayment Waiver Request policy as developed by the Controller’s Office. The 30 day public review solicited feedback from all UC Berkeley employees to ensure that the campus community had the opportunity to provide input. We appreciated the responses and suggestions we received that informed the final policy. 

The purpose for establishing this new policy is to clarify the process to request a waiver for overpayments. 

Following the public review process, the proposed policy was reviewed and approved by the campus Policy Subcommittee and Compliance Enterprise Risk Committee. The new campus policy is effective as of Monday, November 1, 2021.

The Overpayment Waiver Request policy may be found on the Campuswide Directory of Administrative Policies and Procedures, along with the overview of the policy.
