Our undergraduate Golden Bear Orientation (GBO), which took place both online and in person this year, could not have happened without your work and support. All members of the Golden Bear Orientation Steering Committee and the staff of New Student Services appreciate the many contributions you’ve made on behalf of our new undergraduate students.
Golden Bear Orientation is a foundation for everything that follows here at UC Berkeley, and with the unprecedented state of the world, our students still felt your encouragement as they transitioned into our academic community. You helped our first-year and transfer students find new friends in their new community. You gave them academic support, guided them toward important resources, and helped them enroll in classes.
Without campuswide support, we couldn’t offer such a robust orientation program for our incoming undergraduates. Thank you.
NOMINATE A LEADER
As you know, our GBO student leaders are critical to the program’s overall excellence, and we are beginning our search for 2022 leaders. While we do not yet know what fall 2022 GBO will look like, we do know that GBO leaders are central to the Golden Bear Experience.
If you know or work with an undergraduate student who you believe would be a dedicated GBO Leader and positive role model for UC Berkeley's newly admitted undergraduates, simply fill out our nomination form and encourage your campus colleagues to do so as well.
Orientation Leaders will receive real-world leadership experience; facilitation, public speaking, team building, and professional skills; exclusive career development opportunities; and memories to last a lifetime. The position is open to undergraduate students of all colleges, majors, and personal attributes.
