Nominate a Student Leader

January 31, 2018

Please note, this message is for UC Berkeley Faculty & Staff that work with undergraduate students.

Dear Berkeley Faculty & Staff:

Last August our campus held its first Golden Bear Orientation — and it was a success! Critical to the program’s overall excellence were our student leaders; in fact, 92 percent of last year’s GBO participants considered their leaders as resources on campus.

If you know or work with an undergraduate student who you believe would be a leader and positive role model for UC Berkeley's newly admitted undergrads, simply fill out this nomination form by February 9, 2018

Orientation Leaders will receive real-world leadership experience; facilitation, public speaking, team building, and professional skills; exclusive career development opportunities; special campus rewards and recognition; and swag and memories to last a lifetime. The position is open to undergraduate students of all colleges, majors, and personal attributes.

Golden Bear Orientation is designed to welcome new undergraduates to the UC Berkeley intellectual community, to lay the foundation for fostering their intellectual identity, and to facilitate a sense of belonging. The campus will host the multiday (August 15–21) comprehensive orientation for all 9,000+ incoming undergraduates

Please feel free to contact the staff in New Student Services if you have any questions: nss@berkeley.edu

Thank you in advance for your contributions toward Golden Bear Orientation!

Sincerely,

Carol Christ, Chancellor
Cathy Koshland, Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education
Stephen C. Sutton, Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
