To cultivate an environment that is welcoming for diverse gender and sexual identities, it is imperative that employees develop an awareness of social and political factors that impact LGBTQIA+ experiences and issues.

Our goal is for participants to leave with a baseline understanding of how policies, processes and practices (identity development, campus and work climates, and state and national policies) have disproportionately impacted LGBTQIA+ folx in Higher Education.

Connected to the University of California Core Competencies of “Relationship Building” and “Creating the Future”, this panel conversation will highlight the importance of critical thinking and critical self-reflection as indispensable practices for advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging within the workplace.

Living Authentically is the second annual experience for Critical Voices in DEIB, which is designed to engage the broad UC Berkeley community in a professional learning experience anchored in the expertise and facilitation of thought leaders in the areas of identity, culture, and social justice.
