Join us for Campus Conversations with Berkeley Leaders

January 22, 2018

Dear faculty and staff,

Much change is afoot at Berkeley, as we work to eliminate our budget deficit as well as set the campus on a path toward continued academic and research excellence. These efforts are being directed by a host of campus leaders, some of whom have been at Berkeley for a long time and others who have just recently arrived, but all of whom are committed to engaging with the campus to develop solutions that serve our institution and community.

In the interest of open, transparent communication, this semester we are launching Campus Conversations, a monthly series of meet-and-greet events in which a campus leader will share his or her vision for the future and take questions from members of our community. Bring your thoughts and your lunch (we’ll provide cookies and refreshments!) and join the conversation.

The first event will take place this Friday, January 26, and will feature Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Rosemarie Rae. Rosemarie will give an overview of the campus budget and the financial challenges we face, as well as discuss approaches to building a sustainable financial model for the campus. The event will be held in Alumni House from noon to 1 p.m. Please bring your Cal ID if you’d like to attend.

Other upcoming events this spring will feature Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Paul Alivisatos on February 12, Vice Chancellor for Administration Marc Fisher on March 22, and Chancellor Carol Christ on April 24. For more information, visit campusconversations.berkeley.edu.

Sincerely,

Diana Harvey

Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications & Public Affairs
