Get Healthy: Join Convenient Campus Health & Wellness Services

 Student Affairs

Dear Faculty & Staff Members:

The beginning of a new term is always a good time to explore the benefits and services available to UC campus employees. Here are some options:

Eat healthy (for good value)
Take advantage of the convenience, flexibility,  and value of flex dollars for all faculty and staff. Flex dollars work on a declining balance and have a purchasing power of $1 each. You get $55 of value, for example, with a purchase of $50. There’s no daily minimum or maximum flex dollar usage. Find out more details and how to purchase on the Cal Dining website.

Sign up for a Rec Sports membership
Looking for a larger array of workout options? All faculty and staff (including visiting scholars) are eligible for a discounted membership to Berkeley Rec Sports. Members get access to the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF), the Fitness Center at Memorial Stadium, tennis courts, running tracks, the Strawberry Canyon Recreation Area, Hearst Pool, and the Golden Bear Recreation Center, Group X classes, and discounted rates on personal training, instructional fitness classes, and Cal Adventures classes at the Berkeley Marina. See the “Membership Types & Benefits” web page on the Rec Sports site for details.

Join a fitness class
WorkFit is an affordable and fun way to get fit — and it is an offering exclusively for our faculty and staff. Take advantage of the 50+ classes per week offered across campus at convenient times throughout the year. Check out WorkFit’s web page for schedules and how to register.

Be well at work
Join Be Well at Work this semester for a number of reflective, interactive, and practical workshops that highlight ways for you to prioritize your physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. The Fall Workshops and Resources flier has you covered to hit the ground running!

And be sure to check out recalibrate, a website that aims to help faculty, staff, and students take advantage of the wealth of campus wellness resources.

We’re fortunate to have all of these services promoting health and wellness. We encourage you to take a look and a step toward improving your health.

Sincerely,

Stephen C. Sutton, Ed.D., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
Brigitte T. Lossing, Assistant Dean of Students and Interim Director, Recreational Sports
Guy W. Nicolette, M.D., CAQSM, Assistant Vice Chancellor, University Health Services
Christopher R. Henning, Executive Director, Cal Dining
