Botanical Garden

Visit the Botanical Garden this holiday season! Come to our Holiday Pop-Up Shop sale, give the gift of Garden Membership, and make green gifts at our botanical crafting programs. As always, staff, faculty, and students enjoy free admission to the Garden with UC Berkeley ID.

Holiday Pop-up Shop at the Garden, December 12th-15th, 11 am - 4 pm. Enjoy holiday shopping in the Garden’s cozy Julia Morgan Hall. Choose from a selection of curated gifts from the Garden and local vendors. Amazing gifts ideas include: plants, art, calendars, cards, jams, chi ldren's books and toys, spice gift sets, jewelry, books, pottery, and more! All proceeds benefit the Garden's conservation and educational efforts.

Essig Museum of Entomology

Traveling this holiday season? If you are passing through the San Francisco International airport before January 5th, be sure to head to the airport a few minutes early, to visit the Intriguing World of Insects exhibit in the international terminal. The exhibit features some of the Essig Museum’s most spectacular specimens, along with objets d'art, photographs, and descriptions of insect groups and their importance to our ecosystems. The exhibit is displayed in 20 glass cases pre-security in the main (check-in) floor of the international terminal.

Hearst Museum of Anthropology

Stop by the Hearst Museum this week through December 15th for 20% off select gift items! From locally blended Fabula Tea, to candles from Hand brewed Soaps, and incense from Juniper Ridge, find the perfect presents for loved ones this holiday season!

Wherever you are in the world, you can always visit the Hearst Museum virtually by exploring the Museum’s Collections Portal, or drop by one of the many museums around the world that are currently exhibiting collections from the Hearst Museum.

Lawrence Hall of Science

During Winter Weeks, the Lawrence Hall of Science is open daily between December 21st and January 5th (except December 25th). Engage with dynamic exhibits, meet a furry (or scaly) friend in the Animal Discovery Room, catch a show in the planetarium, and more! Check out the featured traveling exhibit, Reinventing Reality, which explores the science of virtual reality in a fun, interactive setting. Faculty, staff, and students, admitted free with UC Berkeley ID. While you are visiting in person or online, remember to stop at the Hall’s Discovery Corner Toy and Book Store, It is a great place for holiday shopping, with books, science and engineering-related toys and other fun items for everyone on your gift list.

In addition to visiting, you can host a holiday party at the Lawrence Hall of Science. Your guests can enjoy all the science museum has to offer, as well as the spectacular view of the San Francisco Bay Area.
