Deadline Extended: Call for Nominations: The Peter E. Haas Public Service Award

Dear campus community,

I am pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2020 Peter E. Haas Public Service Award. Given each year, the award recognizes a Berkeley alum who exemplifies our institution's commitment to the public good and whose volunteerism has had a profound impact in one of four areas: community and social service, health care, education, or the environment. The deadline for nominations has been extended to January 31, 2020.

Established in honor of the late Peter E. Haas '40, a generous campus benefactor and longtime volunteer himself, the award comes with a $20,000 cash prize as well as $20,000 to be donated to a charity of the winner's choice. The honoree is also asked to speak at our campus's commencement ceremony on May 16, 2020.
