Dear Campus Community,
I am writing to invite all UC Berkeley staff members to apply to serve on the Chancellor’s Staff Advisory Committee (CSAC).
The Chancellor's Staff Advisory Committee serves as a vital communication link between staff and administrators, helping ensure that campus leadership better understands a wide variety of issues that affect the staff experience. In the past, our campus has benefited tremendously from the ideas generated by this volunteer committee: As just a few examples, CSAC was instrumental in the development of the Staff Ombuds Office, and recently influenced the scope and expansion of Staff Appreciation Day to several events a year.
The committee also administers the Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Awards, celebrating some of our most dedicated staff members and their excellent work.
I urge supervisors to join me in encouraging staff members to apply to join the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Committee. In addition to providing useful feedback to campus leaders, CSAC is an excellent professional development opportunity and a chance to meet colleagues from across campus. Berkeley staff members have our full support to take part in staff organization activities during regular working hours.

The CSAC membership application is available on the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Committee membership webpage, and should be submitted by Friday, March 26, 2021.
