Campus Conversations with Cal Basketball Coaches Charmin Smith and Mark Fox

January 16, 2020

 Communications & Public Affairs

Dear faculty and staff,

The Office of Communications and Public Affairs is proud to present the first Campus Conversations event of the spring semester on Tuesday, January 21 from noon to 1 p.m. in Alumni House. Our guests will be Women’s Basketball Coach Charmin Smith and Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Fox.

At Tuesday’s event, Coaches Smith and Fox will discuss the value that Intercollegiate Athletics brings to Berkeley, our commitment to ensuring that student athletes reach their academic aspirations, and ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the athletics department and the academic side of campus. They’ll also talk about budget transparency and the anticipated effects of California’s recently passed image and likeness bill, California Senate Bill 206.

As always, we’ll provide cookies, coffee, and tea. A Cal ID is required to attend this event.

After next week’s session, Campus Conversations will continue with Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer Rich Lyons on February 24; Associate Provost for the Division of Data Science and Information and Dean of the School of Information Jennifer Chayes on April 21; and Chancellor Carol Christ on May 11.
