Associate Chancellor/Chief of Staff to the Chancellor Transition

June 12, 2017

Dear members of the campus community,

I write to you today to announce a transition in the Office of the Chancellor. Associate Chancellor and Chief Ethics, Risk, and Compliance Officer Khira Griscavage will be taking over as my Chief of Staff starting July 1. We will be restructuring the current staffing model so that there is one Associate Chancellor position. This means that Khira will continue to be responsible for the campus’s staff ombuds, audit, compliance, ethics, and risk service programs while additionally serving as my Chief of Staff. This change requires thoughtful adjustments and we will ensure that the restructuring maintains adequate support for all of the critical functions of the Chancellor’s Immediate Office.

After three years of dedicated service, Associate Chancellor and Chief of Staff to the Chancellor Nils Gilman will be transitioning to a new role. He will be joining the Berggruen Institute as Vice President of Programs, in which capacity he will lead the organization of intellectual and policy projects consistent with the Institute's mission and its focus on “Great Transformations.”

Please join me in thanking Nils for his service to the University, and congratulating Khira as she assumes her expanded role.

Sincerely,

Carol T. Christ

Interim Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost; Chancellor-designate
