March 9, 2020

Sent on Behalf of the Office of the Vice Provost for the Faculty

Dear Colleagues,

Please join me in thanking Associate Vice Provost for the Faculty, Angelica Stacy, who has decided to retire this summer after nearly twenty years of distinguished service as the Associate Vice Provost.

Angy's strong leadership and dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion has propelled the campus forward in many significant ways. She has been at the forefront of many campus efforts that have significantly advanced the University's goals with regard to diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has initiated comprehensive faculty climate surveys and produced critical research on faculty career/life topics, which have led to the design and implementation of several of Berkeley's most important policies and programs for improving faculty advancement and welfare. Finally, she has provided exceptional support and advice to hundreds of faculty and department chairs, deans, and other academic and university leaders on equity, welfare, advancement, and conflict resolution.

We are all deeply grateful and appreciative of all that Angy has done for Berkeley in her role as Associate Vice Provost. Please join me in thanking Angy for her tremendous service in that role.

We are moving forward quickly with launching the search for Angy's successor and are aiming to have a new Associate Vice Provost in place this summer. I kindly ask that you read the call for nominations below and to please consider nominating strong candidates for this critical campus leadership position.

Regards,
