Sent on behalf of the American Cultures Center Staff

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

The American Cultures (AC) Center is pleased to invite nominations for the 2019 AC Teaching Award. This award recognizes a UC Berkeley faculty member whose exceptional approach to teaching an AC course creates impactful and generative classroom environments which enable students to grapple with the complexity of American cultures.

Recipients receive a $2,500 grant and are honored at our annual award ceremony. This year, the Teaching Award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 8. Details of the award criteria can be found on the AC Center website.

Nomination Guidelines
The first stage of this award requires a nomination to be completed and submitted by Friday, February 22, 2019. While the nomination needs to be approved and submitted by the department chair, vice-chair for instruction, or another appropriate official, the nomination itself may be initiated by any member of the campus community (including faculty, staff, and students).

Inquiries about the AC Teaching Award can be sent to americancultures@berkeley.edu.

Warm regards,

The AC Center Staff
