2018 American Cultures Teaching Award

February 5, 2018

Sent on behalf of the American Cultures Center Staff

Dear Colleagues,

The American Cultures (AC) Center is pleased to invite nominations for the AC Teaching Award. This award recognizes a UC Berkeley faculty member whose exceptional approach to teaching an AC course, creates impactful and generative classroom environments which enable students to grapple with the complexity of American culture.

Recipients receive a $2,500 grant and are honored at our annual award ceremony. This year, the Teaching Award ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 3rd in the Morrison Reading Room, Doe Library.

Details of the award criteria can be found here.

The first stage of this award requires a nomination to be completed and submitted by February 23rd. While the nomination needs to be approved and submitted by the department chair, vice-chair for instruction, or other appropriate official, the nomination itself may be initiated by any member of the campus community (faculty, students, and staff).

Inquiries about the AC Teaching Award can be sent to americancultures@berkeley.edu.

Warm regards,

The AC Center Staff
