Today, as we bring this wonderful week of appreciating staff to a close, it’s time to get out your walking shoes! Please join Chancellor Designate Carol Christ, other UC Berkeley leaders, and your campus colleagues in our fun group walk. We have brand new UC Walks t-shirts for you (while supplies last), light refreshments, and the chance to win great prizes (you must register and be present to win). Group walks will depart at 12:10pm today from four campus locations to converge at Memorial Glade, and separate walks are taking place at both Campus Shared Services and Lawrence Hall of Science. All faculty and staff are encouraged to commit to a 30-minute walk today.
Before I sign off for the week, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the over 200 staff volunteers whose collective effort, in addition to help from Facilities Services, Athletics, Cal Dining, and dedicated planning committees, made Wednesday’s Summerfest possible. Indeed, I heard feedback that it was “the most fun had on campus for some time!” The event reminded me of how special our Berkeley campus and community is, and how lucky we all are to call each other colleagues.
