Presenting the all new Berkeley brand website

March 9, 2017

Dear colleagues,

The Berkeley brand platform and accompanying website (brand.berkeley.edu) were first launched in February 2013. In the four years since, the gradual adoption of these guidelines campuswide has helped unify and improve our overall brand image while saving time and money for campus units. As an added bonus, alumni report that there is greater synergy among the messages they now receive from units.

In addition to regularly scheduled brand trainings, the brand team has conducted studies on brand architecture and brand partnerships. The brand template has been expanded to include digital guidelines that were launched with the redesigned homepage (berkeley.edu) two years ago. The refreshed brand.berkeley.edu site brings together all these improvements.

Among the useful resources you will find on the site:

brand manuals including brand architecture and brand partnership guidelines
brand training opportunities with a calendar of upcoming sessions and training resources
brand campaign tools with examples of assets available for campus units
business documents including PowerPoint, Word and Google document templates
branded web templates for Dreamweaver, WordPress and Drupal
social media directory with one-click access to active university accounts
showcase of exemplary work from campus units (have you sent in yours yet?)
We hope the new brand site will help staff, faculty and students tell their own Berkeley stories in a synergistic manner.

If you have any feedback on the brand site, please email Ram Kapoor, Chief Marketing Officer, UC Berkeley at ram.kapoor@berkeley.edu
