UC BERKELEY IS CELEBRATING EARTH WEEK 2017

The campus community is invited to attend a variety of fun, educational, and hands-on events on and off campus to celebrate Earth Week. Sustainability events start Monday, April 17 and continue through Monday, April 24. Whether you’re interested in active transportation, local and organic food, climate action, reducing waste, saving water, environmental justice or renewable energy, there is a free activity for you. Highlights include:

Lower Sproul Solar and Rainwater Storage Tour April 19
Join a tour to learn more about green infrastructure in the MLK Jr. Student Union, including the rainwater catchment system and solar panels on the roof.
-Wednesday, April 19, 1:00pm – 4:00pm: Multiple 40-minute tours will run all afternoon - sign up here!

Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Sustainability's Annual Summit April 20
The Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Sustainability hosts its annual Sustainability Summit honoring this year's Award Winners and giving campus organizations a chance to share their sustainability successes and projects. Refreshments provided.
-Thursday, April 20, 3:00pm – 4:30pm at Crossroads Dining Commons

East Bay Climate Action Expo April 21
Discover what our local East Bay community, including UC Berkeley, is doing to make a difference on climate change and find out how you can have an impact on this critical issue. The Expo is free and open to public; the screening of Before the Flood is FREE for the first 10 students who sign-up!
-Friday, April 21, 6:00pm – 10:00pm at David Brower Center, 2150 Allston Way, Berkeley

There will also be a number of sustainability related lectures and activities on Cal Day, Saturday, April 22.

Earth Week is organized by the Earth Week Planning Committee, which includes members of The Student Environmental Resource Center (SERC) and students from over45 student sustainability organizations.
