Committee Descriptions

 

Career Development Committee

The broad charge of the Career Development Committee is to address the

career development needs and interests of the campus community. 

Supervise the pilot Mentorship Staff Program.

             Meets 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month (1 pm)

             2150 Shattuck, Room 751

 

Communications Committee (Web & former Newsletter Committee)

The Communications Committee is responsible for accurately

and timely postings to the BSA website. All postings must be approved by

the Coordinator, but the Coordinator may delegate this responsibility. The

committee must stay abreast of current campus issues and website policies.

 

Events Committee

The Events Committee schedules the annual New Member Reception, Holiday

Luncheon, Spring Luncheon, the Coordinator's Farewell Luncheon, and other

events as necessary.

 

Excellence in Management Committee

The Excellence in Management Committee selects an annual theme that is

consistent with the administrative vision outlined in the Partnership for

Excellence in the 21st Century. The committee publicizes availability of

the award; establishes application procedures and selection criteria; reviews

applications and selects awardees; and coordinates the annual awards

ceremony and resulting publicity.

 

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee coordinates recruitment and welcoming of

new members and encourages continuing membership.  Responsibilities

include: update BSA application forms, in coordination with the Treasurer

and Coordinator write annual membership renewal letters, write welcome

letters to new members, and write welcome letters to returning members

submit bi‑annual progress report to Coordinating Committee write

bi‑annual activities report for the Newsletter sponsor events to recruit and

maintain current membership

 

Program Committee

The Program Committee presents programs on campus issues designed to appeal to a wide range of interests among BSA members and the campus

community at large. Program sessions are informational and content driven

rather than social events.

 

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee raises funds for scholarship awards that are

for career development of BSA members. The committee publicizes

availability of the award; establishes application procedures and selection

criteria; reviews applications and selects awardees; and coordinates the

annual awards ceremony and resulting publicity.

 

Ad Hoc Committees and Liaisons

             Ad Hoc Committees and Liaisons will be established as necessary. Current

             ad hoc committees and  liaisons must submit an annual report for inclusion

             in the year-end packet for the University Archivist.
